Shark Infested Custard Game

Today for hurumanu 5 witch is health we played a game called shark-infested custard. You play the game by getting it groups of 5 or 6 and you have 3 hula hoops that you will use to get from one side of the room to the other side of the room. In this game you can only move to the other side of the room by placing a hula hoop down on the ground then stepping in it then you would place another one down and move into that hop and you can only move the hula hoop when no one is in it so you have to have about three people in one hula hoop and none of your teammates can be out of the hula hoop otherwise your group has to start at the start again.

The thing that works well in our game.

  • Work together as a team
  • - useful to have a leader
  • - strategy time useful
  • - easier to move with fewer people
  • - try to have fun
  • - communicating with each other
  • - following a pattern of hoop entry
  • - being fair team players
  • - rule changes to make it better next time
  • - supporting each other-helping hand
  • - hoop distances kept close

This is what my healthy meal for each thing is.

Your Task: Create a meal plan for 1 day that includes all the necessary amounts for each of the 4 Food Groups

Milk/Milk products - 2 servings

When you have created your meal plan, please highlight each food based on the colours provided above. This will help us clearly see where each of the food groups has fit in. Remember, you want each meal to be a balanced plate.

Bonus research: how many glasses of water should we have each day? Fit this into your meal plan.

Lunch

Sandwich wheat bread mayonnaise cucumber lettuce tomato and  ham.

Sugar And Drinks

This week on Tuesday we had math and health. For maths, we look at sugar and drinks and how much sugar was in drinks. For the activity we had to work in groups, we had to put teaspoons of sugar in a small Ziploc bag. The amount of sugar we put in a Ziploc bag was the amount of sugar in a drink.  I was really surprised when a bottle fizzy had 20 teaspoons and sports drink Had 14 teaspoons in it. We have some photos of our math activities.

This is a photo of my group.

This is a photo of all the sugar in the ziplock bag for each drink

I hope you enjoyed my blog post I really found a lot about sugar and drinks. And all the measurements of sugar are interesting and some are really surprising with how much sugar they had in them.
