Kowhaiwhai Art

Hi everybody, for the last 2 weeks we have been working on kowhaiwhai patterns.
Kowhaiwhai is beautiful Maori patterns that appear as painted scroll design, abstract and curvilinear in form.

The teachers gave us three words to choose from one of the words was tumanaako that means hope the second word is whakapono which means faith and trust the last word which I was using which is aroha which means love.

Drama and Reading

This week for Hurumanu 2 which is drama and reading with Miss Allen and miss Bremner we have been looking at pictures and then inferencing them.

Inferencing is like reading between the lines is like knowing what they're gonna do next in the story without the storytelling even mentioning it.

The picture that I chose for influencing was a little bunny looking into a tunnel with sunlight coming from the tunnel. The name of this picture is called the tunnel in the hedges. Here is the work that I have done on influencing with the picture

TUNNEL IN THE HEDGE

  • Where does the tunnel lead I think the tunnel leads to a bunny wonderland with endless food to eat

  • What is the source of the light I think the source of light coming from the tunnel brightness on the other side because they have been having so much fun?

  • Do you think the rabbit will go through? I think the bunny will go through the tunnel because he can smell all the food on the other side and here all the other bunnies are having so much fun.

  • Has it been through before I don't think the bunny has been through the tunnel because if it has it would already be on the other side and not standing there?

  • How did it find out about the tunnel the bunny found out about the tunnel cause lots of bunnies word disappearing out of nowhere so he followed one bunny and the bunny lead to the tunnel
  • Would you go through it I would grow through the tunnel if it was like a fun land or if I was a bunny because of all the free food and all the other bunnings over there.
